The Director of Retina Marketing will develop and execute marketing strategies for retina specialists, ensuring consistent brand messaging and effective cross-functional collaboration.ResponsibilitiesDevelop end-to-end U.S. brand strategy, encompassing positioning, segmentation, targeting, and lifecycle planningDefine the brand identity (core promise, tone, personality, visual direction) in partnership with agency and cross-functional stakeholdersLead development of core creative messaging and narrative architecture that translates novel MOA and clinical differentiation into compelling, customer-centric storiesEstablish a clear and durable competitive frame of reference within retinal disease and evolving treatment paradigmsEnsure consistency of brand identity and messaging across retina, patient, and payer audiencesDesign a go-to-market engagement model for retina specialists from disease education through product availabilityResponsible for developing and execution of omnichannel framework (NPP / Digital / Media marketing tactics)Provide strategic direction to creative agencies on brand campaigns, ensuring alignment to positioning and identitySet guardrails for message hierarchy, tone, and visual expression across all materialsReview and guide major creative assets to ensure they reinforce differentiation and emotional resonancePartner with Medical/Legal/Regulatory to maintain compliance without diluting the brand narrativePartner with Market Access to ensure brand promise is credible and deliverable within buy-and-bill economicsPartner with Payer strategy Team to ensure account value narratives reinforce clinical and economic differentiationAnticipate and mitigate access friction impacting adoptionEnsure tight alignment between brand messaging and real-world access experienceServe as commercial integrator across Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Patient EngagementPartner closely with the Executive Director, Retina Marketing to ensure brand identity and messaging translate effectively into patient journey programs, tools, and practice workflowsSynthesize competitive information into clear, actionable insights for commercial, medical, market access, and leadership teamsDefine and track KPIs related to: Brand awareness and understanding, Message recall and differentiation, Adoption and engagementContinuously refine brand narrative and creative approach based on market feedbackSkillsRequires a bachelor's degree or other advanced degreeMinimum 10 years of marketing experienceMinimum last 5 years working on brand launch (retina preferred)Demonstrated ownership of pre-launch strategy, insights generation, disease education, and cross-functional leadership (buy-and-bill / ophthalmology / retina preferred)Ability to thrive in ambiguity that can be present in a high-growth environmentExceptional professional communications and interpersonal/critical thinking skills necessaryPrior experience with MLR/PRC submissions and processDesire to innovate and work in a fast-paced, energetic environmentApproaches work with enthusiasm, curiosity, and self-motivation to contributeRequires up to 30% domestic travelCompany OverviewOcular Therapeutix, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company committed to redefining the retina experience across drug development, treatment, and outcomes.
