They are seeking a visionary Director of Quality Engineering & Platform Reliability to lead the transformation of quality practices, focusing on automation and AI-assisted testing within a large-scale B2B supply chain platform.ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the enterprise Quality Engineering roadmap, establishing automation-first testing practices across UI, API, integration, performance, and end-to-end workflowsDrive shift-left quality practices throughout the SDLC and partner with Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Operations leaders to improve platform reliability, delivery predictability, and customer experienceLead adoption of AI-assisted quality engineering practices, including AI-enabled approaches for test generation, defect detection, regression optimization, and release validationEvaluate and implement AI-powered quality engineering platforms and agentic workflows, establishing governance and best practices for AI-enabled software delivery using tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude CodeDefine testing strategies for platform modernization initiatives, including legacy enterprise platforms, cloud-native services, APIs, event-driven architectures, messaging systems, and EDI integrationsBuild and scale enterprise automation frameworks, establishing and governing Playwright-based automation standards integrated into CI/CD pipelines and quality gatesImplement performance, scalability, resiliency, and reliability testing practices alongside observability-driven quality validation, synthetic monitoring, and production testing strategiesDefine and manage quality KPIs including defect escape rate, automation coverage, deployment success rate, release readiness, MTTD, MTTR, and platform availability metricsLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Quality Engineering managers, automation engineers, QA engineers, and quality analystsDrive organizational alignment on quality standards and engineering best practices across globally distributed engineering teamsSkills12+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or Software Engineering5+ years leading Quality Engineering organizations and people leadersProven experience defining and scaling quality strategies for complex enterprise software platformsDeep expertise in enterprise test automation strategy and implementation, including Playwright-based framework development and scalingStrong experience testing API-first, integration-heavy, and data-driven applications, with hands-on knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated quality gatesExperience supporting platform modernization initiatives and leading quality transformation from manual testing to automation-first engineering practicesExpertise with SQL Server, database testing, data validation, and Microsoft-based enterprise platforms including .NET applications, APIs, integration services, and cloud-native solutionsExperience with shift-left testing, BDD frameworks (Gherkin, SpecFlow), observability-driven quality engineering, and engineering metrics and quality analyticsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceBenefitsRemote work environment401k with 3.5% company match and vested after 2 years20 PTO days - 1 birthday day off - 3 summer days - 1 Volunteer day - 11 company holidaysMedical, dental, vision and other life/health insurance plansPaid parental leaveWellness reimbursement programCompany OverviewDigital Commerce Platform, B2B eCommerce, PIM, Marketplace Integration, EDI, eInvoicing It was founded in 1995, and is headquartered in Coventry, Coventry, GBR, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
