They are seeking a Director of Platform Engineering to own the architecture of their developer experience, focusing on tooling standards, AI harness, deployment pipelines, and governance models to enhance engineering productivity and reliability.ResponsibilitiesOwn and evolve the developer experience across all product engineering teams: tooling standards, AI harness integration, deployment pipelines, and governance modelDefine and enforce platform engineering standards that enable engineering teams to ship faster and at a higher quality barDrive adoption of AI-native SDLC practices across the organization, partnering with engineering managers to measure and improve development velocityLead architectural decisions for shared platform infrastructure, including observability, deployment, and API standardsBuild and lead the Platform Engineering team, including a Senior Platform Engineer and SRE/DevOps LeadDevelop engineering talent and establish the culture of the platform function — reliability, craftsmanship, automation-first thinkingRepresent Platform Engineering in cross-functional forums with Product, IT, and executive leadershipPartner with the SVP and Head of Engineering on long-term technology strategyOwn the reliability posture of the platform: uptime SLOs, on-call frameworks, incident response standards, and postmortem cultureEstablish telemetry, observability, and alerting standards across all product lines (DataDog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty)Collaborate with IT on the clean boundary between Engineering-owned reliability functions and IT-owned cloud infrastructure, security, and governanceEvaluate and champion new tooling, frameworks, and practices that improve engineering productivityBe an active participant in FMG's AI engineering transformation — from agentic development tools to AI-assisted QA and testingServe as a technical thought partner to the SVP and Head of Engineering on platform bets, M&A technical diligence, and architecture directionSkills10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE leadership rolesDemonstrated experience building or scaling a platform engineering function — from establishing standards through growing a teamStrong command of cloud infrastructure (AWS primary, GCP secondary), CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment practicesHands-on experience with observability tooling (DataDog, CloudWatch, PagerDuty, or equivalent)Experience leading and developing engineering teams — hiring, mentoring, and setting technical directionStrong communicator — comfortable translating platform strategy for non-technical audiences and making the case for investmentProven track record of shipping: you hold teams accountable for delivery and know how to unblock themAccess to a private & secure workspace, free from distractionsAccessible during the assigned work schedule for regular duties and responsibilities as outlined by the supervisorAn internet connection with speeds of 5 Megabits down / 3 Megabits up (5mbps/3mbps)Experience at a PE-backed or high-growth SaaS companyFamiliarity with multi-product or multi-brand engineering environmentsHands-on experience with AI-native development tooling, agentic SDLC, or AI-assisted engineering workflowsBackground in or familiarity with wealth management, financial services, or regulated industry softwareExperience with MCP (Model Context Protocol), API platform design, or developer platform strategyFamiliarity with GitHub Actions, Terraform or IaC tooling, and container orchestration (ECS, EKS)Experience running or contributing to an engineering M&A integrationBenefitsEnjoy a generous paid holiday schedule, including a full week off for our Winter Holiday Shutdown.Our comprehensive paid time off policies cover vacation, sick days, parental leave, and bereavement leave.Our robust insurance plan includes:
