They are seeking a Director of Finance & Billing Operations to lead billing and accounts receivable operations, manage billing processes, and optimize their NetSuite system for improved efficiency and reporting.ResponsibilitiesOwn end-to-end billing, invoicing, collections, and payment reconciliation across all customer segments and revenue streamsManage billing operations for SaaS subscriptions, usage-based services, enterprise contracts, hardware, professional services, and advertising productsEstablish scalable billing policies, controls, workflows, and documentationDrive collections performance, cash flow optimization, and DSO improvementPartner with Accounting on month-end close, reconciliations, revenue reporting, and audit supportManage Avalara sales tax compliance and exemption processingOwn billing support operations, identify recurring issues, and drive long-term process improvementsPartner closely with Sales, RevOps, Finance, GTM Systems, and Engineering to refine billing processes as upstream systems matureDefine billing triggers, operational handoffs, and data requirements that support accurate invoicing and reportingIdentify and resolve data quality issues that create downstream billing and collections challengesImprove workflows supporting complex customer structures, including enterprise, government, education, multi-location, and franchise-style accountsContinuously evaluate opportunities to improve automation, scalability, and operational efficiencyConfigure and maintain billing workflows, invoice templates, payment terms, revenue schedules, saved searches, dashboards, and automationDesign solutions for complex billing scenarios, including: SaaS subscriptions, Consumption and usage-based billing, Hardware and inventory-related billing, Professional services, Enterprise PO-based contracts, Multi-element arrangements, Prepaid, ratable, and event-based revenue modelsDefine system requirements, document solutions, and partner with technical teams on implementationSupport integrations between Salesforce, Mulesoft, and NetSuite to ensure accurate and scalable billing operationsEvaluate system enhancements and process improvements based on business impact and operational efficiencyOwn billing and revenue reporting, including ARR, MRR, deferred revenue, collections performance, and operational KPIsManage license and royalty reporting requirements for content providers and strategic partnersBuild dashboards and reporting that provide visibility into billing accuracy, collections performance, DSO, and operational healthDeliver actionable insights that improve decision-making and support company growthSkills8+ years of experience in Billing Operations, Finance Operations, Revenue Operations, or Order-to-Cash functions within a B2B SaaS or technology environment5+ years managing a billing, finance operations, revenue operations, or order-to-cash functionDeep hands-on NetSuite expertise (4+ years). This role requires someone who has personally configured billing workflows, revenue schedules, automation, saved searches, dashboards, and reporting within NetSuite—not someone who has only partnered with administrators or consultantsDemonstrated experience billing across multiple revenue streams, including SaaS subscriptions, consumption-based billing, hardware, professional services, advertising, and enterprise contractsExperience operating in complex billing environments supporting large customer populations, multi-location account structures, and multiple revenue models simultaneouslyAbility to define system requirements, document solutions, and partner with technical teams to implement scalable processes and workflowsStrong working knowledge of Salesforce as the upstream source of contract and order dataSolid understanding of ASC 606, deferred revenue, revenue schedules, and billing-to-GL reconciliationStrong analytical, operational, and problem-solving skills with a track record of improving processes and systemsExcellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across Finance, Sales, RevOps, Product, and EngineeringExperience with Avalara or similar tax automation platformsFamiliarity with Mulesoft or similar integration technologiesExperience with Tableau or other BI toolsExperience with Ironclad or another contract lifecycle management platformBackground in media, advertising, content, music, or licensing-driven businessesExperience supporting multi-unit, franchise, enterprise, or location-based customer modelsBenefitsEquityComprehensive benefitsCompany OverviewRockbot is a streaming media platform for businesses including TV, background music, mobile app and digital signage applications.
