They are seeking a Director of Finance to oversee financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, and compliance functions, while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership and driving operational performance and growth.ResponsibilitiesLead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, delivering strategic insights, forecasts, and recommendations to senior leadership and the executive teamLead and support the annual budgeting process end-to-end, partnering with business unit leaders to align departmental plans with corporate financial objectivesBuild and maintain a rolling 12-month three-statement financial model (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) to support forecasting, planning, and lender/sponsor reportingOwn detailed 13-week cash flow forecasting, partnering with the CFO on liquidity planning and working capital managementManage reporting and compliance for the companyโs ABL revolving credit facility, including borrowing base support and lender deliverablesAnalyze project-level performance across the business โ including project margins, labor productivity, and contract profitability โ to identify performance gaps and drive corrective actionApply knowledge of contract-based businesses and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting to ensure accurate revenue recognition, margin reporting, and project forecastingDevelop and maintain long-range financial projections and scenario models to support strategic planning and capital allocation decisionsPerform variance analysis against budget and forecast, identifying performance gaps and recommending corrective actions to leadershipEnsure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and executive presentations in accordance with GAAPProduce and manage Board of Directors materials and deliver regular financial presentations to executive leadership and the private equity sponsorDrive operational performance analysis across departments and a multi-site branch network, developing and monitoring KPIs that link financial results to business outcomesLead financial modeling for new business initiatives, investment opportunities, M&A activity, and capital projectsOversee cash flow management and treasury operations to ensure adequate liquidity for business operations and growth initiativesIdentify, assess, and mitigate financial risks including market exposure, operational inefficiencies, and compliance vulnerabilitiesManage capital expenditure planning, working capital optimization, and financing strategy in coordination with the CFOBuild, lead, and develop the finance team โ establishing a high-performance culture and creating professional growth opportunities for team membersAct as a strategic advisor to the CFO, CEO, and department heads, providing financial perspective on business decisions and initiativesCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, sales, and IT to ensure financial alignment with business objectivesCommunicate financial performance, strategy, and risks effectively to non-financial stakeholders across the organizationServe as a liaison to external financial partners including banks, the private equity sponsor, investors, and auditorsSkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field requiredSignificant progressive finance experience, ideally including senior leadership within a corporate finance or FP&A functionProven track record of partnering with C-suite executives and driving business performance through financial insightExperience in complex financial environments such as multi-site, contract-based, private equity-backed, or large-scale private organizations strongly preferredProactive, self-motivated, and intellectually curious, with a strong ownership mentality and bias for actionExpert-level knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisKnowledge of contract-based businesses and percentage-of-completion (POC) accountingAbility to analyze and understand project margins, labor productivity, and other operational drivers of profitabilityExperience with multi-site / multi-location businessesStrong business acumen with the ability to connect financial performance to operational drivers and business outcomesStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and advanced analytics / business intelligence tools such as Power BIExperience with ABL revolving credit facilities, including borrowing base reporting and lender
