Transformation Hospitality Solutions is seeking a Director of Finance to provide strategic financial leadership for a full-service branded hotel. The role involves overseeing all accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and collaborating with hotel management to enhance profitability and financial performance.ResponsibilitiesDirect and oversee all hotel accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, income audit, payroll coordination, and cash managementEnsure timely and accurate month-end close, financial statements, forecasts, and management reports in accordance with ownership and brand standardsPrepare and analyze financial results, budgets, forecasts, and variance explanations for hotel leadership and ownershipCommunicate financial performance, trends, and risks clearly to the General Manager and ownership groupMonitor cash flow, working capital, and banking activity, ensuring timely deposits and disbursementsEstablish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and minimize financial riskEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including sales tax, occupancy tax, payroll tax, and licensing requirementsOversee audits and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and ownership representativesEnsure compliance with management company and brand accounting standards and policiesLead the annual budget process in collaboration with hotel leadership and ownershipMonitor revenues and expenses daily to ensure alignment with forecast and budget expectationsAnalyze operating results and provide actionable recommendations to improve profitabilitySupport capital planning, including ROI analysis, bid review, and monitoring of approved capital projectsLead, train, and develop the hotel accounting team, promoting accuracy, accountability, and professional growthEstablish clear expectations, workflows, and deadlines for the finance teamFoster strong collaboration between Finance, Operations, Sales, and Revenue ManagementEnsure effective use of hotel financial and operational systems, including accounting, budgeting, purchasing, and POS platformsMaintain accurate financial data across systems and ensure proper system controls and reconciliationsSkillsMinimum of 5+ years of progressive hotel accounting experience, with full-service hotel experience requiredStrong knowledge of hotel accounting practices, including month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement analysisProven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teamsExperience working directly with ownership groups and asset managersAdvanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to explain financial results to non-financial leadersPrior experience as a Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, or Senior Accounting Manager in a branded hotel environment preferredHotel accounting and reporting platforms such as M3, ProfitSword, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similarPurchasing and inventory systems such as BirchStreetPMS and POS systems such as Opera, Lightspeed, Toast, or similarAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting toolsCompany OverviewTHS delivers proven, brand-qualified professionals in every specialty, nationwide.
