[Remote] Director of Client Finance

The Director of Client Finance is responsible for overseeing service delivery and acting as an outsourced CFO, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information while collaborating with various teams.ResponsibilitiesOversee financial and accounting services and provide direction to Charter Impact Teams in the following areas: financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense tracking by grant, grant reporting â for both governmental and private grants, and ad hoc reporting as requestedReview all financial statements as prepared by Accounting Teams to ensure compliance with GAAPPrepare annual budgets and monthly forecasts for clients while providing valuable insight as to their financial conditionOversee the annual financial and governmental A-133 audits including: work paper preparation, liaison with auditors and understanding of the governmental programsOversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all compliance reportingServe as a fiscal liaison to Authorizers, Counties, State and Federal AgenciesProvide training to client staff to ensure internal controls are properly implemented and followedWork with organizational leaders and other executives to ensure financial information is properly communicatedExceed clientsâ expectations both in terms of quality and accuracy of information at all timesDevelop and maintain long-term relationships with client leadership and staffMaintain up to date knowledge of the charter school industry and related funding through regular professional development in areas of responsibilityMentor staff to ensure continued professional growth within Charter Impact TeamsSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required7 years of experience, a portion of which includes oversight and development of staff is requiredAbility to maintain, encourage, and participate in a close and highly collaborative team environment with clients and Charter Impact staffExceptional customer service skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh organizational skills with attention to detailSelf-starter â able to prioritize and multi-task without daily direct supervisionComputer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS ExcelKnowledge of Sage Intacct or other similar Non-Profit Accounting systemsMaster's degree in Finance or Accounting is highly desiredExperience in a professional service firm, such as a CPA firm, is a plusExperience in charter school finance and operations is a plusNon-profit accounting experience is a plusCertified Public Accountant is highly desired but not requiredBenefitsRemoteâfirst flexibility: Work where you do your best work, with flexible, remote, and hybrid options depending on role.
