[Remote] Director, Network Engineering

The Director of Network Engineering will oversee the design and engineering of fiber-based GPOM service delivery and access networks, ensuring efficient operation and troubleshooting of network components.ResponsibilitiesAssisting and overseeing the design and development of a multistate regional consumer ISP with the mission of delivering broadband internet to the most rural regional communitiesWorking alongside leadership peers to drive an aggressive design, development and construction plan. Working to find consensus on solutions that drive the overall project to planCollaborating and negotiating with key vendor partners on technology solutionsMaintaining and administering service delivery networks and related environments that may include systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurationsPerforming disaster recovery operations and data backups when requiredProtecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measuresTroubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problemsReplacing faulty network hardware components when requiredAlong with Network Operations Center teams, monitor network performance to determine if adjustments need to be madeConferring with network users about solving existing system problemsOperating master consoles to monitor the performance of networks and computer systemsCoordinating network access and useDesigning, configuring, and testing networking software, element management and other operating system softwareSkillsA minimum of 10 years' experience designing and configuring network infrastructure, network hardware and transport layersAbility to think through problems and visualize solutions.
