[Remote] Director, Middle Market Business Development - Commercial Lines (Middle Market Insurance Production Underwriting Director)

The Director will lead a team of Territory Managers and Underwriters, driving sales and underwriting relationships for commercial lines products and services, while managing a specific territory.
Responsibilities
ā¢ This Director is responsible for a team of 8-9 Territory Managers (field-based senior production underwriters) and the respective book of business within our Commercial Middle Market Custom Solutions organization
ā¢ As a critical role in driving our middle market growth, this leader must be action-oriented, able to work at a high pace for an extended period, and focused on continuing to drive the business forward
ā¢ We'll count on you to build and maintain business relationships with agencies and/or brokers for sales growth and distribution expansion
ā¢ You'll primarily focus on portfolio analysis, relationship management, and account management for a territory
Skills
ā¢ Prior technical underwriting experience (with authority)
ā¢ Existing broker/agency relationships
ā¢ Ability to work at a high pace for an extended period
ā¢ Action-oriented mindset
ā¢ Experience managing a team of Territory Managers and Underwriters
ā¢ Ability to build and maintain business relationships with agencies and/or brokers
ā¢ Focus on portfolio analysis, relationship management, and account management
ā¢ Prior experience as a people leader
