The Director of Market Sales will lead the Market Sales function, ensuring efficient pricing, marketing, negotiation, and sales of property inventory while delivering an excellent customer experience.ResponsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop two Market Sales Team Leaders, ensuring strong people leadership, clear expectations, and consistent execution across teamsSet vision and priorities for the Market Sales function, translating company goals into clear operating rhythms, team goals, and performance standardsHost and facilitate team leader meetings and broader team forums to ensure alignment, accountability, and information flowPartner with HR and senior leadership on hiring, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and top-grading across the Market Sales organizationOwn the execution of disposition strategy, balancing speed of sale, margin protection, and strong listing managementMonitor market trends, sales velocity, pricing performance, and pipeline health; proactively adjust strategy as conditions changeIdentify inventory at risk (timeline, pricing, margin, or partner experience) and partner with General Managers and cross-functional teams to course-correctDrive continuous improvement of Market Sales processes, tools, and operating standardsManage and iterate on an end-to-end customer experience that ensures our customers leave Homeward having a positive experienceIterate on our scripting and automated communications to ensure we are delivering a best-in-class experienceWork with Team Leads to audit and monitor call logs, and provide feedback and coaching when necessaryServe as the primary liaison between Market Sales and internal partners including Sales, General Managers, Repairs, Finance, and Transaction Management to ensure operational alignmentCoordinate cross-functional efforts to resolve escalations, remove blockers, and improve end-to-end outcomesManage and strengthen key disposition partnerships, including ongoing performance management, issue resolution, and relationship healthRepresent Market Sales in cross-functional forums and leadership discussions related to inventory performance and partner experienceAct as the senior escalation point for complex, sensitive, or high-impact Market Sales issuesEnsure clear, professional, and timely communication with internal stakeholders and external partners during escalationsMaintain high standards for agent and partner experience throughout the disposition processOwn Market Sales performance reporting, including pipeline health, pricing trends, days on market, margin outcomes, and escalation themesDevelop and maintain KPI frameworks to measure team, leader, and functional performanceProvide regular, actionable updates to senior leadership with insights, risks, and recommendationsSkills8+ years of experience in real estate sales, dispositions, asset management, or a related field5+ years of experience leading managers or team leaders in a fast-paced, operational environmentDeep understanding of residential real estate markets, pricing strategy, negotiations, and contract managementExtensive experience leading a customer centric sales organizationStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, CMAs, and performance metrics to drive decisionsProven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authorityExperience managing external partnerships and navigating complex stakeholder dynamicsAbility to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-volume environmentReal Estate License required (active or inactive)BenefitsMeaningful equity grant – stock options with real upside potential.Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage – with company contributions towards premiums.Meaningful time off – 20 days of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 12 company holidays, and 2 floating holidays.Generous paid parental leave of up to 13 weeks.401(k) with employer contribution match.Remote-first work environment (our headquarters are in Austin, TX).Collaborative, low-ego team that values intellectual curiosity and continuous improvement.Company OverviewHomeward is an Austin-based startup that enables homebuyers to make all-cash offers and buy a new home before they sell their old one.
