They are seeking a Director, K-12 Strategic Account Manager who will drive growth and achieve sales goals for College Board programs within an assigned territory, focusing on building relationships with educators and decision-makers in the K-12 landscape.ResponsibilitiesDevelop Strategy and Approach to Partnerships with Districts and/or States (60%)Proactively apply understanding of full K-12 educational landscape in your assigned territory or state to develop and execute a multi-year growth strategy for one or more complex states or high-impact districts in partnership with regional leadership—setting direction and ensuring alignment to divisional goalsTranslate regional growth priorities into multi-year account strategies for complex districts or statewide initiatives within your assigned portfolio segmentConsistently build and maintain account management planning processes and business review with each assigned accountDeeply understand state and district-specific opportunities and problems to provide data-driven, personalized solutions that meet state and district needs, with the goal of maintaining and growing business across your assigned territoryIndependently analyze market data, performance trends, and policy contexts to inform long-term strategy and anticipate emerging opportunities. Independently develop and execute account strategies that drive measurable growth in adoption and long-term partner engagementWork in partnership with regional staff members on strategies for increasing volumes, driving growth and ensuring the appropriate training and implementation plans are executedBuild, manage, and report a robust sales pipeline by aligning data insights to market opportunities, positioning College Board programs as essential solutions for districts and statesEnsure disciplined opportunity progression and strategic prioritization of high-impact accounts to maximize long-term adoption growthLead executive-level planning engagements and advisory sessions that align district and state leaders around long-term access and assessment strategies, positioning College Board solutions within broader improvement initiativesLeverage strategic consultative discussions to plan and conduct in-depth workshops and professional development programs for K-12 constituent groupsProvide strategic oversight and internal alignment for major partnership agreements, ensuring implementation supports long-term growth and partner outcomes in an accountability stateManage implementation of state contracts and service or support models when applicableDevelop and execute district-level growth strategies that increase adoption across the AP, SAT Suite, and College & Career Readiness portfoliosDrive consultative, solution-based sales cycles with district leaders and superintendents influencing long-term adoption decisionsManage Complex External Relationships and Internal Relationships (25%)Build and maintain strong relationships with appropriate contacts and decision-makers at external organizations, districts, or key state agencies including superintendents or other key leaders to drive adoption across states and key districtsPartner with colleagues both within region and across SDP to strengthen efforts that connect policy, program, and sales strategies to maximize growth and partner impactBased on your portfolio, provide coaching and support to junior staff members on account strategyExecute Internal Processes & Manage Regional Projects (15%)Utilize Salesforce CRM for account management, to track pipeline health and inform forecasting and performance analysis. and for proactive opportunity and task managementLead or manage divisional or regional projects assigned by leadershipSkillsAt least 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sales, business development, or partnership management, ideally in education technology, K-12 solutions, or related sectorsA proven track record of meeting or exceeding growth targets across complex portfoliosA strong achievement orientation, with a history of setting and delivering on ambitious goalsExperience using Salesforce and manage pipeline (forecast performance, manage pipeline, inform strategy)The ability to build and sustain senior-level relationships and influence decision-making across complex stakeholder groupsStrong operational discipline, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution across time-sensitive initiativesProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsA Bachelor's degreeWillingness to travel frequently, up to 40–50%, and maintain a valid driver's licenseMust Reside in Minnesota or WisconsinA passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven workAuthorization to work in the United States for any employerCuriosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and a comfort learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactivelyClear and concise communication skills, written and verbalA learner's mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receiving timely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user inputA drive for impact and excellence: solving complex problems, making data-informed decisions, prioritizing what matters most, and continuously improving through learning, user input, and external benchmarkingA collaborative and empathetic approach: working across differences, fostering trust, and contributing to a culture of shared successBenefitsAnnual bonuses and opportunities for merit-based raises and promotionsA mission-driven workplace where your impact mattersA team that invests in your development and successCompany OverviewCollege Board is a not-for-profit organization that clears a path for all students to own their future through the Advanced Placement Program, the SAT, Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy, BigFuture, and more.
