[Remote] Director Infrastructure & Operations (Desktop)

First Citizens Wealth is a leading financial institution, and they are seeking a Director of Infrastructure & Operations to lead the Bank’s desktop technical operations and infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the performance, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness of enterprise infrastructure while managing a team of approximately 20 associates.ResponsibilitiesProvide oversight for enterprise infrastructure and technical operations, including desktop hardware, software, and end-user support servicesLead associate teams responsible for daily technical operations and long-term infrastructure stabilityEstablish performance monitoring, reporting, and service metrics to ensure reliability, capable responsiveness and cost-effectivenessGuide teams through the resolution of complex technical incidents and escalationsEnsure infrastructure solutions are scalable, resilient, and aligned with overall operational needsAlign infrastructure strategy and operational initiatives with evolving business objectives and regulatory requirementsPartner with internal business leaders to understand needs and translate them into effective technical solutionsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and external partnersLead and execute infrastructure-related initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and modernization programsSet clear expectations and accountability to achieve departmental and organizational goalsManage budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation for infrastructure and operationsDevelop, update, and enforce IT policies, standards, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and complianceRecruit, coach, develop, and evaluate management and technical staffFoster a supportive, inclusive, and performance-driven team environment focused on professional growthServe as a technical and strategic advisor to senior management on infrastructure and operations mattersMaintain strong knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including Windows-based environments and key end-user computing platforms/servicesOversee identity and access management, security controls, vulnerability management, and system hardening as requiredEnsure compliance with financial services regulatory requirements, security standards, and internal controlsMonitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and vendor offerings to inform roadmap and investment decisionsSkillsBachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Technology Delivery, Project, Program, or Portfolio Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Technology Delivery, Project, Program, or Portfolio ManagementStrong people manager with experience leading managers and technical teamsDeep understanding of enterprise infrastructure in regulated environmentsExperience supporting end-user teams and production operationsWindows-based infrastructure experience (engineering, design, implementation)Knowledge of networking, infrastructure hardware, and enterprise software platformsExperience with access management, security controls, and vulnerability managementFinancial services or similarly regulated industry experience preferredStrong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skillsExperience with DEX or similar toolsCompany OverviewFirst Citizens Wealth offers a full range of financial planning, asset management, private banking, brokerage, investment advisory, insurance and trust services to individuals and institutional clients.
