[Remote] Director, Financial Reporting

The Director of Financial Reporting will direct and coordinate all external financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with SEC requirements and maintaining strong internal controls.ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and filing of all external financial reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, ensuring compliance with SEC and Nasdaq requirementsOversee the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulationsManage the XBRL reporting process, including coordination with external providers and review of tagging prior to SEC filingsCoordinate quarterly and annual reporting timelines across Accounting, Tax, Legal, Investor Relations, and external auditorsServe as the technical accounting expert for the organization, performing research and preparing documentation related to complex accounting matters, new accounting standards, and significant transactionsPrepare and review technical accounting memos and disclosure analyses to support key accounting positions and audit requirementsOversee preparation of materials for the Audit Committee, including analyses related to significant transactions and financial reporting updatesEnsure compliance with SOX controls and internal control over financial reporting, identifying opportunities to strengthen governance and documentationLead coordination with external auditors on quarterly reviews, annual audits, and subsidiary audit requirementsEnsure proper timing and documentation for statutory filings and audit-related deliverablesManage regulatory notifications and reporting obligations associated with public company requirementsSupport treasury-related reporting activities, including dividend notifications, coordination with Nasdaq and Computershare, and oversight of recurring financial transactionsOversee administration and access controls for key financial systems and platforms used in reporting and treasury functionsPartner with Finance and Tax teams on reporting matters including cash flow forecasting support and tax provision documentationOversee the administration of the Company’s equity compensation plans, including coordination with external providers, accounting for stock-based compensation arrangements, reconciliations, and financial statement disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAPDrive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, systems, and controls, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiencyEstablish scalable reporting frameworks to support the company’s continued growth as a public companyLead, mentor, and develop financial reporting team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellencePartner cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Legal, and Investor Relations to ensure alignment on reporting matters and disclosuresSkillsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; CPA required10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience with SEC reporting for a public companyStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and public company disclosure standardsDemonstrated experience preparing and reviewing Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K, including financial statements and disclosuresExperience managing external audits and coordinating with Big Four auditors; prior Big Four experience strongly preferredExperience with technical accounting research, memo documentation, and complex accounting issuesProven ability to lead teams, manage multiple deadlines, and communicate complex accounting topics clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional partnersMaster's degree or MBA preferredExperience managing external audits and coordinating with Big Four auditors; prior Big Four experience strongly preferredBenefitsOne paid volunteer day of your choiceCompetitive bonus structure and equity grants for eligible rolesTeam member stock purchase planHealth savings or flexible spending account options401K – (dollar for dollar on the first 3% and then 50 cents on the dollar for the next 2% for team member contributions up to 5% of eligible compensation)Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefitsBasic life and AD&D insurance providedPet insuranceEducation AssistanceWellness reimbursement programPaid maternity and paternity leaveUnlimited PTOLunch provided every Tuesday and Thursday in officeDiscount on Wingstop gift cardsOnsite game roomCompany OverviewSure, we’re The Wing Experts, but it’s our flavor that defines us.
