[Remote] Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Playfly Sports is looking for a Director, FP&A to join their Corporate Finance organization. This role is responsible for the execution of core FP&A processes, providing strategic financial insights, and managing the FP&A team while collaborating with various departments to support decision-making and performance optimization.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the VP of FP&A to own the execution and continuous improvement of core FP&A processes, including monthly reporting, quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, variance analysis, and the Companyβs 5-Year PlanEnsure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all FP&A deliverables, models, and management reportingOversee financial modeling, forecasting tools, and reporting frameworks to support scalable, repeatable analysisLead updates to the 5-Year Plan, including assumption management, scenario analysis, and alignment with strategic prioritiesPartner with Accounting to ensure alignment between management reporting, financial statements, and forward-looking projections, including balance sheet and cash flow supportOwn and elevate the company-wide financial narrative for executive deliverables, including Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), and ad-hoc leadership presentationsAnalyze financial results to identify risks, opportunities, trends, and tradeoffs, providing clear recommendations to senior leadershipPrepare and deliver sales pacing, performance analytics, and key metric reporting for executive audiencesServe as a trusted thought partner to the VP of FP&A and senior leaders, challenging assumptions and influencing decisions with data-driven insightsAct as a delegate for the VP of FP&A in executive meetings and cross-functional forums as neededCollaborate with business unit leaders and functional partners (Sales, Operations, Accounting, etc.) to support decision-making, cost management, and performance optimizationLead initiatives to improve, automate, and scale FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies as the business growsProvide dashboards, analytical tools, and frameworks that enable proactive management of financial and operational performanceIdentify opportunities to standardize reporting, enhance forecasting accuracy, and improve visibility into business driversDirectly manage and mentor FP&A team members, including reviewing and elevating analyst output prior to executive consumptionFoster a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, quality, professional development, and continuous improvementEnsure documentation of key processes, models, and templates to support team continuity and scalabilityServe as a leadership presence within the Finance organization, modeling strong judgment, collaboration, and ownershipLead or support ad-hoc financial analyses, strategic initiatives, and special projects as requiredPerform other job-related duties consistent with the scope and seniority of the roleSkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required6β8 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles; sports or college athletics experience is a plusDemonstrated experience owning forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and executive financial reportingProven ability to influence senior executives, challenge assumptions, and provide clear, data-driven recommendationsStrong financial acumen with a deep understanding of corporate finance and accounting fundamentalsPrior people management experience, including developing talent and leading teams or complex workstreamsAbility to exercise independent judgment in ambiguous, fast-paced environmentsExceptional analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial concepts for executive audiencesAdvanced Excel and financial modeling skills; strong presentation-building capabilitiesERP system experience required; proficiency with Microsoft Office applications expectedMBA and/or CPA strongly preferredCompany OverviewPlayfly Sports is the leading REVENUE MAXIMIZER in the sports industry.
