They are seeking a Director of Finance who will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating the accounting needs of the Foundation, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and managing departmental budgets.ResponsibilitiesPlans, directs, organizes, coordinates, leads, and controls activities of departmentAssigns backup responsibility for areasMonitors areas for internal controlPerforms problem resolutionPerforms performance appraisals for direct reports and provide input in the hiring processEnsures subordinates have information necessary to complete jobsPrepares and monitors departmental budgetProvides liaison for accounting department with other Foundation departments as well as external agenciesEnsure managers receive appropriate information to manage and identifying and investigating significant variances or performance changes and alerting senior leadership to sameKeeps Administration informed as to financial performance progress and material changes in financial impactHires, trains and retains competent accounting staff and development of future financial leadersManages all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business resultsDirects and oversees the preparation of internal and external financial statementsWorks within the framework of Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesManages the development and preparation of the annual operating budgetDirects and coordinates the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and related compliance filingsDirects and coordinates the payroll and accounts payable processes and financial system supportEvaluates and improves accounting and internal controls to appropriately mitigate riskAssess ongoing accounting operationsMaintains continuous improvement and best practice opportunitiesProvide appropriate recommendation and implementationDevelops, reviews, and revises department policies and proceduresDirects and coordinates designated regulatory reporting including but not limited to Federal and State 990 and 1120 filings, real estate exemption applications and sale tax exemption applicationsPlans and coordinates activities with the external auditorsReviews financial statement data with operation leaders and makes recommendation for changes as neededPrepares presentations of financial data as needed for Vice Presidents and Senior Leadership, as neededPrepare and reviews cost report and other data needed for system optimizationSkillsBachelor's Degree: AccountingLeadership - 6 yearsAccounting - 6 yearsRequires detailed knowledge of accounting theory and applicationBasic PC based spreadsheet and word processing applicationsExposure to server-based systemsBenefitsCarle Health offers a comprehensive benefits package for team members and providers.
