[Remote] Director, Earned and Owned Strategy (SEO and Content)

Wpromote is seeking a Director of Earned & Owned Strategy to lead enterprise-level organic growth initiatives across a portfolio of brands. This role will oversee integrated Earned & Owned programs spanning SEO, Content Marketing, and broader strategic initiatives to enhance discoverability and drive business growth.ResponsibilitiesActing as the executive strategic lead on key accounts, accountable for client successDeveloping integrated earned strategy plans that combine SEO, Local SEO, Content Marketing, AI Search, and Digital Experience, while providing strategic direction to channel managersTranslating complex business objectives into actionable roadmaps that drive measurable performance outcomesLeading local strategy initiatives, including local discoverability, GBP optimization strategy, and localized content frameworksOverseeing strategic frameworks for AI Search readiness, ensuring content and technical foundations are optimized for emerging search experiencesIntegrating AI-driven insights into forecasting, prioritization, and creative planning across Earned channelsPartnering with client and internal channel and analytics teams to enhance operational workflows and reporting automationLeading cross-functional planning across key content activationsProviding executive-level oversight of campaign ideation, launch, and measurement to maintain excellence in executionIdentifying and capturing new organic growth opportunities across search and local search ecosystemsSupporting business development through executive-level presentations, thought leadership, strategic consulting, and expansion opportunities across existing and prospective accountsSkillsMinimum of 5 years of experience leading Earned & Owned Media programs across SEO, Content, Local SEO, or adjacent digital channels in an agency client-facing role (preferred) and/or brand-side organizationExperience managing integrated digital marketing campaigns that leverage cross-channel insights and collaborationWorking experience with Web Analytics and SEMRush or similar SEO platformsProven success managing large-scale, enterprise search and content transformation initiativesDeep understanding of AI Search evolution and organic discoverability trendsExcellent time and project management skills, with the ability to identify, prioritize, and respond to situations rapidlyStrong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to unify teams across channelsExceptional presentation and executive communication skills; confident advising senior client leadershipBenefitsRemote-first cultureUnlimited PTOExtended Holiday break (Winter)Flexible schedulesWork from anywhere options100% paid parental leave401(k) matchingMedical, Dental, Vision, Life, Pet InsuranceSponsored life insuranceShort Term Disability insurance and additional voluntary insuranceAnnual Class Pass credits and more!The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above) and an annual performance bonus.This role has an associated annual target bonus component which is paid out based on a number of factors which include Company performance, department performance, and individual performance.Bonuses are not guaranteed and you must be an active employee in good standing and not on a Performance Improvement Plan to be eligible for the annual bonus.This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusionsWhile this role offers the flexibility to work remotely, we have office hubs in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where you can join in on learning and development opportunities, fun events, take advantage of a space to work, and collaborate in person!Company OverviewWpromote is an online marketing firm specializing in digital marketing and customer acquisition.
