The Director of Data Engineering & Architecture will ensure that Ceribell’s systems and data architecture support the organization’s strategic objectives, facilitating communication and execution across various teams while developing robust internal tools.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring it supports overall business objectives and long-term visionProvide leadership in defining and designing the architecture for systems, applications, data, AI, and technology infrastructure, with an emphasis on reuse and coherence across toolsCollaborate with business leaders and executive team to ensure technology solutions align with business needs and goalsEstablish and document architectural standards, guidelines, best practices, and processes across the organizationCreate and maintain architectural roadmaps that outline the future state of technology to meet business prioritiesIdentify and evaluate AI tools, emerging technologies, and modern data platforms for integration into internal workflowsOwn and evolve Ceribell’s data architecture, including stewardship of the data warehouses and data pipelines that bring together information from across the businessBuild, mentor, and develop a high-performing enterprise architecture teamSelect and manage relationships with external vendors and third parties involved in delivering architecture solutionsPartner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate ideas and prototypes into production-grade internal applicationsOther responsibilities as assigned by your Manager/SupervisorSkills10+ years of experience in IT architecture or software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred; will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and trainingStrong knowledge of AI/ML, data platforms, cloud-native technologies, software engineering tools, and distributed system design to deliver measurable business impactExperience transforming tech landscapes with multiple SaaS, custom, and enterprise business applications with a focus on reuse, simplification, and cost efficiencyStrong understanding of data architecture, data quality, data governance, data privacy, and analytics/reporting, including pipeline design and systematic data quality practicesExceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiencesAbility to understand business objectives and processes and translate them into effective technology strategiesExperience in developing long-term technology roadmaps and financial plans for technology investmentsPrior experience as a developer or architect in enterprise data systems such as Snowflake, Salesforce, or NetSuite preferredBenefitsPerformance-based incentive compensation (varies by role)Equity opportunities100% Employer paid Health Benefits for Employees50% - 70% Employer paid Health, Dental & Vision for dependents (depending on plan selection)100% paid Life and Long-Term Disability Insurance401(k) with a generous company matchEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) with a discountMonthly cell phone stipendFlexible paid time off13 Paid Holidays + 3 Company Wellness DaysExcellent parental leave policyFantastic culture with tremendous career advancement opportunitiesJoining a mission-minded organization!Company OverviewCeribell is a medical technology company focused on transforming the diagnosis and management of patients with serious neurological conditions.
