They are seeking a Director of Business Development for Biologics to drive regional P&L performance, manage senior client relationships, and lead complex commercial opportunities across biologics CDMO services.ResponsibilitiesOwn and grow the region with full accountability for revenue, pipeline, and new business closures, driving both early-stage (CLD/FIH) and late-stage (Tech Transfer/PPQ/Commercial) opportunitiesLead complex deal cycles end-to-end: prospecting, RFx, solutioning, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution, ensuring high-quality, competitive, and timely submissionsBuild and expand biotech and pharma client relationships, acting as the primary commercial interface and developing trust through strong understanding of technical needs, timelines, and business prioritiesDrive new customer acquisition through targeted outreach, conferences, and inbound lead conversion, in close coordination with internal sales and marketing teamsPartner with global scientific, technical, and delivery teams (U.S. & India) to craft differentiated, client-centric solutions aligned with operational capabilitiesMaintain strong pipeline visibility, forecasting accuracy, and CRM (Salesforce) discipline, including weekly updates and effective management of long sales cyclesCollaborate cross-functionally across scientific, operations, finance, legal, and project management teams to align expectations and ensure seamless executionProactively manage stakeholder expectations while identifying opportunities to enhance commercial value and long-term account growthDrive high-quality, timely RFx and proposal execution in partnership with global teams, while negotiating contracts with strong commercial rigor and maintaining proposal velocity, forecasting accuracy, and strict quality and time disciplineSkillsBachelor's or Master's degree in relevant scientific fieldSubject matter expert in commercial and have experience in life sciences with a minimum of foundational CDMO sales experience in biologics, including development and GMP manufacturing programsProven success managing early-stage and late-stage client engagementsDemonstrated ability to work independently with strong executive presence and operate as an owner of a territoryAnnual quota responsibility is more than $15M USD with a record of consistent over achievementFamiliarity with CLD, upstream/downstream development, tech transfer, PPQ, and commercial manufacturingDrive & Accountability – Sets ambitious goals and delivers results with urgency and disciplineJudgment – Strong ability to evaluate customer needs, risks, and market dynamicsInfluence – Skilled in navigating internal stakeholders and client organizations to driving alignment toward decisions that align with Syngene's mission, goals and valuesCollaboration – Works effectively with global cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
