[Remote] Director, Business Development
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Cognitive Research Corporation is focused on supporting the long-term growth of the biopharmaceutical market in CNS. The Director of Business Development will target new business opportunities, maintain industry awareness, and organize sales strategies to close new business deals.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a strategic business development plan for the target accounts to meet/advance the company’s objectives, to develop new business and maintain/grow key client business relationships, to support the growth of the organizationMake targeted sales calls and emails to prospective new clients to qualify and initiate new business relationshipsCreate business opportunities through continual qualification and relationship buildingUtilize strategies and tactics to close qualified businessDevelop and implement individual, territory, and key account strategies that are specifically geared to the growth and retention of the client baseMust be able to design and deliver powerful solution-driven capabilities and proposal presentations in collaboration with highly skilled clinical and operations personnelSupport CRC Proposals team in the efforts for response to Requests for Proposals/InformationRepresent CRC at select industry-related conferences and trade showsProvide continuous general intelligence on all key competitors; their services, acquisitions, market positioning, and pricingProvide daily opportunity updates to the CRM system on probabilities, amounts, contacts, communications, timing, etcParticipate in weekly meetings reviewing sales pipeline, tactics, major client visits, accomplishments challenges and objectives/goals achieved or missedDetermine new approaches to problem-solving and devise solutions within the scope of responsibilityAble and willing to travel throughout the assigned geographical territoryWork autonomously and effectively, managing own priorities in conjunction with those of colleagues and clientsSkillsBA/BS or Master's degree in Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience4 years of business development experience in CRO and clinical research industries, or equivalent experienceKnowledgeable in the interventional drug development processExperience developing accounts by effective networking and prospecting, building a sales pipeline, delivering creative proposals and delivering opportunitiesPrior CRO or clinical site sales quota carrying history and target performance achievementSolid knowledge of drug development continuumA commitment to customer service both internally and externally and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to achieve performance goals, be adaptable to various competing demands, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting prioritiesExcellent written and oral communications skillsHighly proficient in Microsoft Word, Project Management software, Excel, and PowerPoint, OutlookAbility to function independently in a fast-paced team environmentStrategic perspectiveStrong interpersonal skillsUnquestioned integrity and ethics with a confident but well grounded approach to work and work productAbility to travel Company OverviewCognitive Research Corporation is a contract research organization that specializes in Central Nervous System product development.
