[Remote] Director, Accounting - Global Intercompany

Warner Music Group is a global collective of music makers and innovators, seeking a Director of Accounting - Global Intercompany to lead their accounting operations. This role involves overseeing reconciliations, settlements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations while managing a diverse team of accounting professionals.ResponsibilitiesOverseeing reconciliations, settlements, eliminations, and dispute resolution across all legal entities globallyResponsible for general ledger accounting, including monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, Consolidations, and Asset accountingWork with team to complete submission to corporate and review of related schedules submitted to Corporate in conjunction with the monthly/quarterly financialsLiaise with internal and external auditors, and ensure compliance with SOX requirements including drafting and updating process narratives, and maintenance of requirement documentationResponsible for reporting and analytics as neededLead the end-to-end global intercompany accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations and settlements across all legal entitiesOversee the elimination of intercompany balances during the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation processLead dispute resolution processes related to intercompany transactions between global affiliatesEnsure effective financial internal controls and SOX compliance for all intercompany activitiesLead and mentor a diverse global team of accounting professionals to ensure accurate financial reportingProvide oversight over the preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly filingsSpecial projects as requested by business divisions and corporateProvide excellent customer service and develop/maintain strong relationships with different business unit finance organizations, including the respective CFO and VP of FinanceDevelop an environment of constant operational improvement that results in definable projects that are delivered timely and result in cost savings to the entire organizationFacilitate and bridge gaps between the areas of Finance, Accounting, IT, Strategy and OperationsDevelop, recommend, and implement all strategy relating to Financial Shared Services functionsMonitor and analyze monthly operating results against budgetInteract with internal and external auditors to resolve potential issues and new transactions, act as primary point of contact for area of oversightApply Blackline to automate and monitor closing tasks for area of oversight, and ensure compliance with leadership initiatives related to BlacklineAd hoc analysis and projectsSkillsBA/BS in Accounting8-10 years of progressive accounting or controllership experience with at least 3-5 years in a Global Business Services (GBS) leadership role (supporting executive leadership at the CFO or corporate level)10K schedule support experienceFixed Asset accounting oversight experienceExperience with Intercompany accounting, consolidations, and Foreign currency translationsLarge, multinational company experienceDriver of 'change', and thinks creatively and strategicallyStrong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley complianceQuantifiable examples of achievements and strong track record of successExperience in strong communication and strategy presentationStrong leader who can influence and lead initiatives within the companyAbility to achieve results through influence over external and internal parties who are not direct reportsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam player who can collaborate with all business units and departments within the companyAbility to optimally prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is essentialSolid project management skills, from initial idea through executionA 'Process First' mentality, understanding that the software only works if the underlying workflow is cleanDemonstrated professional maturity with unquestioned personal and business integrityKnowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Master's of AccountingCPA a plusSAP S/4HANAHFM familiarityBlackline experienceCompany OverviewWarner Music Group is a music company with the interests of recording and publishing music and artist services.
