The DevOps Engineer will ensure the reliability and performance of enterprise applications while leading application operations, production support, and deployment activities.ResponsibilitiesMonitor, support, and maintain production applications to ensure system availability, reliability, and performanceReview application, server, and system logs to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issuesPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring incidentsRespond to production incidents, outages, and escalations in a timely mannerEstablish operational monitoring, alerting, and support proceduresPartner with development teams to improve application resiliency, observability, and supportabilityManage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting enterprise applicationsMonitor database performance, storage utilization, indexing strategies, and query optimizationDevelop and execute database maintenance plans to support increasing claims and transaction volumesProactively identify capacity constraints and implement scalability improvementsSupport database backups, recovery procedures, and data integrity initiativesCollaborate with development teams on data architecture and performance optimizationLead and manage application deployments across Development, Test, Staging, and Production environmentsDevelop, document, and continuously improve deployment processes and release proceduresCoordinate release activities across technical teams and stakeholdersValidate deployment readiness and execute rollback procedures when necessaryMaintain deployment schedules and ensure minimal disruption to business operationsSupport CI/CD processes and release automation effortsSupport an Agile, Lean, and SAFe-based environment utilizing DevSecOps, CI/CD, and related methodologiesManage source control repositories using GitHub or BitbucketCreate, maintain, and optimize automated build and deployment pipelinesCollaborate on policies, standards, governance, and best practices for software development and operational supportPartner with developers to improve application performance, maintainability, and deployment efficiencyUtilize development experience to troubleshoot application issues and support code-level analysisContribute to application enhancements and technical debt reduction activitiesSupport JavaScript-based application development efforts as neededSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical disciplineEight (8) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for educationMinimum of five (5) years of experience supporting enterprise applications in an operations, DevOps, production support, or engineering roleExperience supporting production environments with high-volume transactional systemsExperience leading application deployments and release management activitiesExperience supporting Microsoft-based enterprise applications and infrastructureExperience conducting in-depth troubleshooting, triage, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement activitiesAbility to obtain a Government Public Trust clearanceU.S. Citizenship requiredBenefitsBe part of a mission-driven organization making a difference in healthcare IT.Collaborate with innovative and passionate professionalsthat are there to support you at every turn.Enjoy a supportive work/life balance with the flexibility of a 100% remote company.Benefit from opportunities for growth and development in a dynamic environment.Company OverviewCognitive Medical Systemsβ purpose is to empower people and organizations to optimize healthcare delivery through innovative technology solutions.
