[Remote] DevOps Engineer (AWS, Linux, CI/CD)

Optomi, in partnership with their premier client, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of a cloud-hosted production environment. This role focuses on infrastructure administration, deployment activities, automation initiatives, and operational support to maintain highly available systems and ensure smooth application delivery.ResponsibilitiesAdminister and support AWS services including EC2, RDS/Aurora, ALB, IAM, CloudWatch, and related cloud resourcesMonitor infrastructure health and proactively address performance, availability, and capacity concernsDrive improvements in system scalability, reliability, and operational efficiencyPerform routine operating system patching and maintenance activities across Linux environmentsMaintain security-related documentation and ensure adherence to organizational standards and compliance requirementsIdentify, assess, and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and security findingsParticipate in audit preparation and ongoing security review processesCoordinate and execute application deployments across multiple environmentsMaintain deployment workflows and CI/CD processes to support consistent software deliveryAssist with release validation and production readiness activitiesDevelop and enhance automation scripts using Bash and related scripting technologiesStreamline operational processes through automation and infrastructure management practicesSupport configuration management initiatives and environment standardization effortsSkillsHands-on experience administering AWS environments, including EC2, RDS/Aurora, ALB, IAM, and CloudWatchStrong Linux systems administration background, preferably supporting Ubuntu-based environmentsExperience supporting applications built on the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)Familiarity with Java-based services running in productionProficiency in Bash scripting for automation and operational tasksExperience supporting cloud-based production systems and critical business applicationsKnowledge of monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management best practicesFamiliarity with software deployment processes and CI/CD methodologiesStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively manage priorities in a fast-paced operational environmentCompany OverviewOPTOMI is an IT staffing firm that serves its consultants, clients, and employees through its consultant-focused approach.
