[Remote] DevOps Engineer

FirmPilot is looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer who is passionate about Continuous Delivery and building reliable deployment pipelines. The role involves managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, supporting security best practices, and collaborating closely with the development team to ensure efficient production deployments.ResponsibilitiesBuild Continuous Delivery pipelines that enable safe, frequent production deploymentsManage and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost efficiency, and reliabilityEvaluate and implement infrastructure solutions and best practices as new needs ariseSupport security best practices across containerized servicesOwn observability and monitoring across backend and frontend systemsParticipate in daytime on-call rotation and contribute to incident response and postmortem processesSupport internal employee technology requests, including device setup, troubleshooting, software installation, and access issuesProvision and deprovision employee accounts across company systems as part of onboarding and offboarding processesManage company-issued hardware, including laptops, peripherals, inventory tracking, replacements, and lifecycle managementMaintain user access permissions and assist with identity and access management best practicesSupport endpoint security initiatives, including device compliance, access controls, and security best practicesDocument internal IT processes and maintain technical documentation to support a growing organizationSkillsSolid understanding of Continuous Delivery principles and real-world implementation using Terraform and GitHub ActionsExperience managing AWS infrastructure at scale — including multi-account environments, IAM, ECS Fargate, SNS/SQS, and event-driven architecturesStrong background in containerization and DockerFamiliarity with security best practices for cloud-native environmentsComfortable using monitoring tools to identify and diagnose performance issues across the stack, including frontend systemsStrong general troubleshooting skills, with the ability to track down root causes across distributed, event-driven systemsExperience with feature flags and progressive rollout strategiesHonesty and consistency: you do what you say you'll do, and you're upfront when something's offCuriosity and discipline: you dig into problems rather than guessing, and you follow through on the boring-but-important parts of the jobHigh emotional intelligence: comfortable asking for help, quick to own and surface your own mistakesKubernetes experience is a plus — we have workloads on EKS today and are expanding our footprint thereCompany OverviewFirmPilot develops an AI-driven marketing engine designed for law firms.
