Remote Development Director, Non-profit Foundation

Our client, a well-respected non-profit foundation dedicated to community improvement, is seeking an experienced and passionate Remote Development Director. This is a fully remote role, allowing you to contribute your expertise from any location within the US. The Development Director will be responsible for leading fundraising efforts, cultivating donor relationships, and driving the financial sustainability of the organization. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet annual and long-term financial goals. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundation partners. Manage grant writing and reporting processes, ensuring timely submissions and compliance. Oversee the planning and execution of fundraising events, both virtual and in-person when appropriate. Develop and manage the annual fundraising budget and track progress against targets. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders. Create compelling fundraising communications, including appeals, newsletters, and impact reports. Utilize donor management software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce) to track donor information, manage relationships, and analyze giving patterns. Stay informed about trends and best practices in non-profit fundraising and philanthropy. Mentor and support junior development staff and volunteers involved in fundraising activities. Develop strategies for major gifts, planned giving, and corporate partnerships. Analyze donor data to identify trends and opportunities for engagement. Ensure all fundraising activities comply with ethical standards and legal requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in non-profit fundraising and development. Proven track record of successfully planning and executing fundraising campaigns and achieving financial goals. Demonstrated experience in cultivating and soliciting major gifts and grants. Strong understanding of donor relations, stewardship, and campaign management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive appeals and reports. Proficiency with donor database management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce NPSP). Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with a remote team and diverse stakeholders. Passion for the mission of the organization and commitment to its success. Experience in digital fundraising and social media engagement is a plus. This position is 100% remote, offering a flexible work arrangement.
