Remote DE/VA Underwriter- 100% Remote
Several of our clients are seeking strong DE/VA Underwriters to join their teams.
An Active VA LAPP/SAR is required for consideration and Candidates must reside in Central, Mountain or Eastern Time Zones
They are all seeking a collaborative underwriter who thrives on engaging with the origination team and is comfortable picking up the phone to ensure clear communication and accurate loan decisions.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Evaluate mortgage loan applications to ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations
ā¢ Analyze borrower financials, credit reports, and property appraisals to determine eligibility
ā¢ Assess risk and provide thorough loan decisions with clear explanations and conditions
ā¢ Collaborate closely with processors, loan officers, and stakeholders to resolve questions and expedite the process
ā¢ Stay up-to-date with industry trends, guidelines, and best practices
Qualifications
ā¢ Active DE and VA underwriting certification required
ā¢ Must have used DE and VA designation within the last 11 months
ā¢ Minimum 5 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
ā¢ Proven history of longevity in prior roles (average tenure, no frequent job changes)
ā¢ Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-QM, and Jumbo products
ā¢ Experience with Encompass strongly preferred
ā¢ Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
ā¢ Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
Compensation & Benefits (Varies depending upon client)
ā¢ Salary: $85,000 ā $105,000 per year
ā¢ Full benefits package including: (Varies depending upon client)
ā¢ Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance
ā¢ 401(k)
ā¢ Paid vacation and sick time
