They are seeking a Designer UI/UX responsible for creating user-centered experiences for software applications by conducting user research, designing intuitive interfaces, and collaborating with project teams to enhance product usability.ResponsibilitiesConduct user research activities including stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, usability testing, and feedback collectionTranslate business, technical, and user requirements into intuitive user experiences and interface designsCreate design artifacts including user journeys, process flows, wireframes, mockups, interactive prototypes, and user interface specificationsDesign user experiences for desktop applications, web applications, and data-driven systemsCollaborate with engineers to ensure accurate implementation of design requirementsParticipate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and reviews as part of an Agile development processConduct usability evaluations and recommend design improvements based on user feedback and observed behaviorEstablish and maintain design standards, patterns, and reusable interface componentsSupport accessibility and usability best practices throughout the software development lifecyclePresent design concepts and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholdersSkillsExperience designing end-to-end user experiences for software applicationsProficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, or similar UX design platformsExperience conducting user research and usability testingStrong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principlesExperience collaborating with software development teams in Agile environmentsStrong communication and presentation skillsTypically has a Bachelor's or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, and 5+ years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience; e.g., each year of work experience may be substituted for each year of education required5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, product design, human-centered design, or a related disciplineClearance Level: Secret, Must Have Clearance to StartExperience designing Electron-based desktop applications or other thick client software solutionsExperience designing user experiences for technical, engineering, analytics, or data-intensive applicationsFamiliarity with data visualization principles and dashboard designExperience working within government, defense, intelligence community, or regulated environmentsExperience supporting applications operating in disconnected, restricted, or air-gapped environmentsKnowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practicesFamiliarity with design systems and component librariesCompany OverviewAgile Defense is an information technology company located in Reston.
