Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mindlance is seeking a Design Engineer V to join their AR Product Team, focusing on advanced PCB layout designs. The role involves managing complex projects, collaborating with various engineering teams, and implementing miniaturization solutions for AR products.ResponsibilitiesManage multiple complex layout projects, providing timely status reports within Meta systemsLead designs from kick-off through tape-out, encompassing rigid, rigid-flex, and flex PCBs for both product and non-product/test projectsProactively schedule and drive project meetings (Kick-off, Placement, Constraint, and Design Reviews) to ensure design verification using Meta's Design Traveler documentCreate and modify engineering tool project templates, meta-data, configuration data, and rulesApply a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly for power distribution, high-speed circuits, and RF signalsIdentify project execution risks or slowdowns proactively and collaborate with managers and/or technical program managers to propose alternative PCB development workflow solutionsUnderstand and propose practical fit and function solutions related to miniaturization conceptsProactively partner with EE Leads, Mechanical Engineering, TPMs, and other cross-functional teams (XFNs) to resolve design issuesWork with internal DFM engineers to confirm supplier requirements at project launchEngage with external suppliers and Supplier Quality/Process Engineering (SQE/PE) to resolve DFM issues and ensure high-yield buildsResearch concepts and translate them into engineering plans/blueprints/graphicsCreate CAD models and detailed drawings for new products/systemsDevelop, build, and test prototypes; run evaluations/iterationsAssess prototypes to identify issues, risks, and failure pointsPropose changes to improve production efficiencyOversee/supervise manufacturing execution of the designs (coordinate through build/production)Collaborate with engineers to facilitate and lead project execution.
