They are seeking a Design Engineer to partner closely with Product Design and Product Engineering, focusing on building high-quality, user-centered software experiences and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.ResponsibilitiesBuilds and maintains user-facing product features with a strong emphasis on usability, accessibility, and performancePartners with Product Designers to translate design concepts, prototypes, and UX flows into production-ready implementationsContributes to and evolve the product design system, component libraries, and UI patternsCollaborates with Product and Engineering teams to define interaction patterns, technical constraints, and implementation approachesEnsures design fidelity, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility across supported platformsAdvocates for best practices in frontend architecture, design quality, and developer experienceSkillsBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, design, or related field OR equivalent practical experience3–5 years of experience working on user-facing software productsDemonstrated experience collaborating with designers on production applicationsKnowledge of modern frontend web technologies and frameworks; product design principles, including usability, accessibility, and interaction design; and design systems and component-based architectureStrong frontend development (e.g., React, TypeScript, modern CSS) skillsCross-functional collaboration skills with design and product partnersAbility to translate design artifacts (Figma or similar) into high-quality codeAbility to balance design intent with technical constraintsAbility to make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, quality, and scalabilityAbility to communicate design and engineering decisions clearlyFormal training in UX, HCI, or interaction designExperience at product-led technology companiesExperience working with design systems or platform-level UI infrastructureExperience building or maintaining shared design systemsKnowledge of healthcare or regulated digital product environments; performance optimization and web standards (e.g., WCAG); and server-rendered or edge-based web platformsSkilled in leveraging modern product-team tooling to streamline workflows, enhance cross-functional collaboration, and support efficient, data-driven deliveryAbility to influence product quality through design-driven engineering decisionsAbility to iterate quickly based on user feedback and product insightsCompany OverviewGiftHealth is a healthcare tech startup that streamlines pharmacy experience with free delivery and competitive medication pricing.
