[Remote] Design Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SRAM is seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to the mechanical design team on new product development across a variety of cycling components. The role involves designing high-quality mechanical products, collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams, and applying engineering best practices to solve problems.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop high-quality mechanical products for drop bar hydraulic brakes and drivetrain controls (electronic and mechanical shifters)Apply SRAM engineering best practices and standard procedures to creative problem solvingDocument design specifications using standard documentation practicesCollaborate regularly with engineers and cross-functional project teamsFacilitate problem resolution within design teams and with suppliersMitigate design risks through proactive design analysis and risk management methodologiesProvide input on and design for manufacturing processesSkillsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent degreeMinimum 3 years of experience in product design or a related engineering fieldProficiency in engineering tools including statistics, GD&T, FEA, FMEA, and tolerance analysisCAD experience required; Creo Parametric preferredKnowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, including forging, CNC machining/turning, and stampingStrong structured problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, failure investigations, PDCA, A3 thinking)Effective communicator across a broad audience and across culturesAbility to travel internationally, primarily to Asia, up to four times per year for one to two weeks at a timePassion for continuous learning, self-improvement, and contributing to team growthCreo Parametric preferredBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchLife and disability insurancePaid time offCompany OverviewFounded in Chicago in 1987 by Stan Day, SRAM, LLC has grown to be one of the world's largest bicycle component manufacturers.
