(REMOTE) Dental Claims Resolution Specialist 1
Locations: Must reside in Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Washington State, Illinois or Virginia
Pay: Hourly pay with base rate of $17.75 per hour and a health and welfare benefit paid per hour of an additional $5.36. If health benefits are not needed (e.g., candidate has TRICARE, VA, or spousal health coverage), the $5.36/hour is contributed to a 401(a) tax-deferred account, with a 3% company match. If health benefits are needed, the $5.36/hour is used to cover benefit selections.
Training: One week of mandatory paid training will be provided remotely. Training is conducted live via Microsoft Teams and requires full video participation for the duration. Successful completion of this training is required to graduate and transition into production work.
Attendance: Candidates must not have any planned absences during the training week. Unplanned time off is only acceptable in cases of emergency.
Time Off and SCA Benefits:
This role is covered under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with SCA guidelines, employees are eligible for: - 11 paid federal holidays per year (88 hours annually) - Paid vacation: 2 weeks (80 hours) of paid vacation annually after one year of service - Paid sick leave in compliance with state and local laws - Health and welfare fringe benefit of $5.36/hour to be used toward health coverage or contributed to a retirement account if coverage is waived
Position Metrics: This role focuses on accuracy and detail rather than call volume. Metrics include time logged into systems, appropriate use of break/lunch periods, quality of claim processing, and compliance with training standards. Prior experience with dental claims, billing, or healthcare administrative support is highly valued.
Equipment: Widescope provides all necessary computer equipment, including PC, monitors, and cables. Employees must provide reliable high-speed internet with the ability to connect via LAN for optimal performance.
Position Overview:
The Dental Claims Resolution Specialist I supports accurate and timely data entry for dental claims under the Veterans Affairs Community Care Network (VACCN). The specialist will review incoming claims via fax, portal, or paper, ensuring claims are processed with precision and compliance.
Key Responsibilities: - Enter dental claims data into internal systems with accuracy - Correct OCR (optical character recognition) claim issues - Respond to claim-related emails in the VACCN queue - Assist with failed EDI claim resolution - Maintain and update claim tracking spreadsheets to prevent aging backlogs - Collaborate with team leads on complex claims - Apply independent judgment and problem-solving skills
