[Remote] Day Coordinator - Independent Contractor - Part-Time

SoundCheck Mag is a dynamic music media brand focused on capturing the essence of concerts and artist culture through photography-driven content. The Day Coordinator role is an independent contractor position responsible for managing day-to-day operations, including communications, task tracking, content uploads, and contractor coordination to support the creative and editorial team. Responsibilities Monitor and triage the SoundCheck press inbox daily Flag urgent items and route messages to the right team member Draft or send templated responses using approved messaging Keep the inbox organized using labels, folders, and archiving protocols Review the Asana Command Center daily and flag overdue or unassigned tasks Send follow-up reminders to contractors and contributors on outstanding deliverables Log new tasks as directed by leadership and update statuses as work is completed Send a weekly editorial status summary every Monday Upload approved articles and photo galleries to the SoundCheck Mag website Apply proper formatting, tags, categories, and other fields, as consulted by SOP guidelines Confirm all links, images, and layout elements are correct before publishing Upload pre-edited video content on schedule with proper titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails Organize videos into playlists and schedule publish dates as directed Publish community posts to support content drops Flag notable comments or engagement to leadership Attend designated internal and external calls as directed Take detailed, organized notes in real time Distribute clean follow-up summaries — including key decisions, action items, and deadlines — within 24 hours Track and follow up on outstanding W-9s and contractor agreements Send templated onboarding communications to new contractors Flag missing documentation to leadership before deadlines Skills Highly organized, reliable, and proactive — you do what you say and communicate when you can't Familiar with YouTube Studio — uploads, metadata, thumbnails, playlists Clear, professional written communication Strong note-taking and ability to turn a call into a clean summary Quick learner on new tools — Asana, Wix Studio, Google Workspace Comfortable managing your own time across non-sequential work blocks Thrives in a fast-moving creative environment where no two days are identical Genuine interest in music, media, or creative industries is a plus Detroit/Metro-Detroit local highly preferred — fully remote, occasional in-person possible Company Overview Soundcheck Mag is “Your backstage pass to music’s biggest moments,” delivering photography-driven coverage of concerts, festivals, and exclusive artist experiences.
