The Database Administrator II will support the administration, monitoring, and optimization of SQL database environments, ensuring security and performance while collaborating with developers and infrastructure teams.ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain SQL databases across development, test, and production environmentsCollaborate with developers and system architects to design scalable and efficient database solutionsOptimize database structures to ensure performance, reliability, and data integrityMonitor database health and performance to ensure systems remain accessible and efficientIdentify performance bottlenecks and implement database and query optimization strategiesImplement database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive dataEnsure database environments meet security and regulatory requirementsDevelop and maintain database backup and recovery processesSupport high availability solutions such as clustering and Always On Availability GroupsParticipate in disaster recovery planning and testingDevelop and maintain scripts for database monitoring, automation, and maintenance tasksIdentify opportunities to automate operational processesSupport migration of on-premises SQL Server databases to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWSEvaluate and recommend cloud-based database services to improve scalability and performanceAssist with administration and optimization of Amazon Redshift clusters, including performance tuning and cluster monitoringSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experienceMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator5+ years of experience in database administration, database architecture, or related technical rolesAdvanced experience with SQL Server database administrationExpertise in database performance tuning and troubleshootingStrong proficiency in T-SQL scripting and automationExperience with high availability and disaster recovery solutionsFamiliarity with Azure SQL Database, Amazon RDS, or similar cloud database servicesStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environmentAssist with administration and optimization of Amazon Redshift clusters, including performance tuning and cluster monitoringMicrosoft Certified: SQL Server Database AdministratorMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Migration EngineerAWS Certified Database – SpecialtyExposure to Amazon Redshift architecture, clusters, and optimization preferredBenefitsAn annual stipend gives you the freedom to enhance your workspace with options that suit your needs.Medical, dental and vision insurancePaid time off for vacation, illness, and volunteeringRetirement savings plan with employer contributionAdoption financial assistancePaid parental leaveCompany OverviewComagine Health is a healthcare consulting firm & they work collaboratively with patients, providers, payers and other stakeholders.
