The Database Administrator will design, develop, and administer SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity and security while participating in team efforts for operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for adhering to all HealthStream security policies, procedures, and assigned trainingParticipate with the DBA team in maintaining appropriate processes and controls for maintaining a highly available environmentInstall and maintain SQL Server in production, development, DR and quality assurance environmentsTune SQL Server configuration settings, queries, physical and logical database designInvestigate and resolve data issues as neededPrioritize work methodicallyRecognize confidential data issues and maintain confidentialityPerform deployments in production environment as neededPerform routine database maintenance and software upgradesDevelop, test and execute disaster recovery plan as neededBackup and restore databases on live, development, DR or quality assurance servers as neededIdentify areas of improvement and provide design models for SQL Server queries, stored procedures and functionsReview database utilization and provide growth models so no database ever unexpectedly outgrows its allocated spaceCreate and modify relational and dimensional data modelsDevelop database queries as requestedDevelop SQL Server Integration Services routines for populating data warehouse and processing Analysis Services cubesParticipate in a team of database administrators in all areas of support, development and tuning and operational excellenceMust be able to work in a strong team-oriented environmentAbility to handle high volumes of work without errorLearn from and backup other database administrators as necessaryBe on call on a rotating basis and troubleshoot database issues individually or through a team effortSkillsFour year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field or equivalent experienceDemonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server version 2017 and newer.
