They are seeking a Database Administrator responsible for maintaining the health, security, and performance of the organization's database environment, including proactive performance tuning and the development of automation scripts.ResponsibilitiesExecute database performance tuning and query optimizationAnalyze execution plans to identify and resolve performance bottlenecksPerform proactive index maintenance and database integrity checksIdentify trends and recommend performance improvements before issues impact usersManage user account creation, permissions, and complex role‑based security modelsEnforce least‑privilege access and separation of dutiesManage database audit logs and support security reviews and investigationsApply database patches and security updates in accordance with change management processesEnsure database configurations align with regulatory and corporate security standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI DSS)Perform routine and complex database backups and restoresManage and support high‑availability solutions (e.g., clustering, mirroring, log shipping, or Always On Availability Groups)Maintain, document, and regularly test disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuitySupport recovery objectives (RPO/RTO) and participate in DR exercises and auditsDevelop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python for: Backups and restores, Maintenance tasks, Monitoring and validation checksMonitor database health using native tools and enterprise monitoring platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Redgate)Create and maintain custom alerts to proactively detect performance, availability, and security issuesContinuously improve operational efficiency through automation and standardizationParticipate in a rotating on‑call schedule to provide 24x7 support for critical database systemsRespond to database incidents, outages, and performance issues in a timely mannerLead troubleshooting efforts during incidents and contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) documentationCollaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams during incident responseSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field5+ years of experience in database administrationMicrosoft Certified: Database Administrator AssociateBenefitsMay be eligible for an annual bonusEnterprise‑wide learning and mobilityFlexibility that’s recognized externallyCompany OverviewEpiq Systems provides legal process outsourcing (LPO) services in the United States and internationally.
