The Data Processing Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of ocean transportation tariff data, converting complex shipment information into proprietary systems to support customer needs and regulatory requirements.ResponsibilitiesConvert, enter, and maintain ocean transportation tariff data within Descartes’ proprietary Rate Master applicationProcess tariff updates in strict accordance with Federal Maritime Commission (FMC)/Surface Transportation Board (STB) regulations and internal quality standardsReview and validate data to ensure it accurately reflects customer business intentProvide customers with filing confirmations and respond to inquiries regarding published tariffsAssist customers with questions related to FMC regulations, tariff filings, and system functionalityPerform peer reviews and authorize updates completed by other team members to ensure accuracy and complianceMaintain organized electronic and general office recordsSupport team deadlines and assist with workload fluctuations, including overtime when requiredSkillsAssociate degree (2-year) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage time-sensitive and compliance-driven workProficiency with PCs and Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and OutlookSolid analytical, clerical, and organizational skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentAbility to work under pressure and meet strict regulatory deadlinesBasic knowledge of world geographyExperience working with regulated data, publishing, logistics, transportation, or trade compliancePrior exposure to tariffs, contracts, or regulatory filing environmentsBenefitsHealthDentalVisionRetirement savingsPaid time offOther employee programsCompany OverviewDescartes provides cloud-based logistics and supply chain management solutions to improve productivity for businesses.
