[Remote] Data Platform Engineer, Senior Associate

The Data Platform Engineer will manage and advance HPN’s data infrastructure, build and maintain data pipelines, and optimize cloud-based data platforms to ensure high-quality data accessibility and insightful reporting.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) pipelines across systems (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, SharePoint, Azure SQL)Support integration of source systems with tools like Databricks, Python, Fivetran, and Power Automate to streamline data workflowsEnsure high performance and reliability of datasets used for operational and strategic reportingSupport the development of dashboards and reports in Power BIPartner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver usable insightsMaintain data definitions and documentation to support data literacy across the organizationAdminister, maintain, and optimize highly scalable and performance-oriented Azure SQL databases hosted on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, ensuring high performance, availability, and securityMonitor, proactively address, and troubleshoot performance issues, query optimization, and capacity planning to ensure optimal database performanceImplement and manage database backup, recovery, patching, and security protocols aligned with best practices to safeguard data and ensure business continuityMaintain comprehensive documentation for all database systems, configurations, procedures, and processes, including source control tools and protocolsAdapt software engineering practices to data engineering, including Azure DevOps source control tools for CI/CD pipelines and protocolsStay up to date with emerging database technologies and industry best practices including, semantic data modelingSkills3+ years of experience in a hybrid data engineering / Data Administrator role or similarExperience with data lakes, Azure Databricks, Fivetran and Power AutomateDeep SQL expertise and familiarity with relational database architecture (especially Azure SQL)1+ year of experience with Azure SQL; Azure Database Administrator Associate certification preferred2+ years of experience with Microsoft PowerBI Premium / FabricProficiency with Azure DevOps source/version control toolAbility to write clean, reusable scripts in SQL and PythonExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimum guidance while prioritizing workloads to meet goalsCollaborates well with others and works effectively in a team environmentAzure Database Administrator Associate certification preferredBachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field preferredBenefits15 vacation days12 sick days12 paid holidaysPaid personal dayMedical, dental and vision insuranceHealth savings accountFlexible spending accountDependent care flexible spending accountRetirement, and savings plan/401(k) matchGroup life insuranceShort- and long-term disabilityParental leaveSabbatical leaveProfessional developmentCompany OverviewHousing Partnership Network is a non-profit organization that builds affordable housing sectors for low and moderate-income people.
