[Remote] Data Management Manager (Remote)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking a Data Management Manager to lead a team of technical data analysts in the healthcare domain. This role focuses on data curation, management, and ensuring data quality to support decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
β’ Leads the team in deep data exploration and analysis gaining domain expertise
β’ Translate business rules into technical specifications to support data pipeline development
β’ Manage data lifecycle processes including acquisition, storage, transformation, and archival serving has de-facto data product manager for the enterprise data warehouse
β’ Manage Master Data Management process for several domains
β’ Enforce data quality standards, metadata management, and data lineage tracking in partnership with Data Governance and Engineering teams
β’ Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with stakeholder needs
β’ Partner with IT and Data Governance teams to implement data stewardship and master data management practices
β’ Manage industry and CareFirst specific reference data for enterprise usage
β’ Provide recommendations on business rules definition and data cleansing strategy
β’ Support data validation, data balancing and data integrity maintenance
β’ Supervise and mentor a team of data analysts and data stewards
β’ Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration
β’ Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment on data priorities
β’ Translate and communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, data architecture, data product management, application teams, enterprise architecture
Skills
β’ Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field
β’ 5 years of experience in data analysis, data management, or related roles, with at least 1 years in a leadership capacity
β’ Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis languages
β’ Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
β’ Exceptional problem solving skill and critical thinking skills
β’ Experience with data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation)
β’ Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake)
β’ Deep SQL and Data analysis experience with ability to provide hands-on support to the team
β’ Understanding of Data principles including general knowledge of data pipelines (batch and streaming), data analytics and overall data usage patterns
β’ Understanding of coding fundamentals and design principles to build high quality data products and enterprise data assets
β’ Develop metrics to measure and track data quality and data balancing

β’ Experience in HealthCare Industry, Payor and Blue Cross Blue Shield preferred
