[Remote] Data Governance Analyst

They are seeking a Data Governance Analyst V to support enterprise data stewardship efforts, focusing on metadata management, data quality, and remediation planning while collaborating with various stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesExecute defined stewardship work under the direction of Business Data Stewards (matrixed roles to this effort)Define and maintain metadata, including business definitions, attributes, and standardsReview and validate data profiling results to assess data quality and consistencyIdentify data quality issues and perform root cause analysisPlan for and execute approved remediation activities once identified issues are validatedProvide business usage context for datasets, including insights on creation, consumption, and dependenciesSupport Planning-for-Control readiness by ensuring required metadata, rules, and checks are complete and accurateCollaborate with Technical Stewards and System Owners to validate data lineage and system behaviorEscalate risks or gaps that could prevent datasets from achieving required maturityPartner across matrixed stewardship roles to ensure alignment on governance priorities and standardsSkills5+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, or related data management rolesStrong understanding of metadata management practices, including business definitions, attributes, and data standardsExperience reviewing and interpreting data profiling results to identify quality issuesDemonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and support remediation planningFamiliarity with data lineage concepts and validating system behavior in collaboration with technical teamsUnderstanding of audit/control readiness requirements, including metadata, rules, and checks documentationComfortable working within matrixed organizational structures involving multiple stakeholder rolesStrong written and verbal communication skills to support cross-functional collaboration with Business Data Stewards, Technical Stewards, and System OwnersAbility to clearly identify, document, and escalate risks or governance gaps to appropriate stakeholdersComfortable operating with a degree of autonomy while following direction from Business Data StewardsExperience working within large, regulated enterprise environmentsFamiliarity with data governance tools and metadata management platformsBackground supporting compliance, audit, or control readiness initiativesExperience in utility, energy, or similarly regulated industriesBenefitsMedical, Dental, & Vision Insurance PlansEmployee-Owned Profit Sharing (ESOP)401K offeredCompany OverviewKellyMitchell is a HR firm for IT and technical staffing for organizations globally.
