As a Data Engineer for Southwest Airlines Careers, you'll be part of a dynamic group that's making its journey to Cloud and building a cloud data warehouse that provides real-time data to Data Scientists for predictive analytics. Your work will help organizations visualize and make sense of complex patterns, improve operational performance, and enable planners to adjust the allocation of resources. Key Responsibilities: Collect and process large, complex datasets that meet non-functional and functional business requirements. Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including re-architecting infrastructure for greater flexibility, improving data delivery, and automating manual processes. Build necessary infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using AWS and SQL technologies. Develop analytical tools to utilize the data pipeline, providing valuable insights into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition. Collaborate with stakeholders, including data, design, product, and executive teams, to help them with data-related technical issues. Generate or modify equipment and technology to serve customer needs. Perform other work-related tasks as directed by Employee's Chiefs. Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you should have: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics. Practical knowledge of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products and services. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Ability to see new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Preferred Qualifications: While not mandatory, having the following skills and experience will give you a competitive edge: Experience working with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS. Strong background in data engineering, including data warehousing and business intelligence. Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different teams.
