[Remote] Data Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. OM Group, Inc. is hiring a Data Engineer / Senior ETL Developer to build and support secure, high-performing enterprise data pipelines. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes, as well as collaborating with data architects and analysts to support enterprise data initiatives.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain complex ETL processes to support enterprise data integration and reporting needsDevelop, test, debug, and optimize scripts in Bash and Python within Unix and Linux environmentsExtract data from diverse sources including databases, flat files, and external systemsTransform and cleanse data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and usability across downstream systemsLoad and validate data within enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, or analytical environmentsAutomate ETL workflows and scheduling processes to ensure reliable and repeatable data operationsMonitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality issuesApply performance tuning techniques to optimize ETL pipelines and data processing efficiencyEnsure adherence to security policies, data governance standards, and operational best practicesDocument ETL processes, data flows, and technical configurations to support maintainability and knowledge transferCollaborate with data architects, analysts, and system administrators to support enterprise data initiativesSupport production data environments and participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution when requiredSkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 8 years of experience developing and supporting ETL processes or data integration solutionsStrong experience working in Unix and Linux environmentsProficiency developing and maintaining scripts in Bash and PythonExperience designing, debugging, and optimizing complex data transformation pipelineExperience extracting, transforming, and loading data across multiple systems and formatsStrong understanding of data integration best practices, data quality validation, and performance optimizationExperience supporting secure environments and following operational security proceduresAbility to troubleshoot ETL failures and analyze system logs to resolve data processing issuesStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document technical processes clearlyDoD 8570-compliant certification required (Security+ or equivalent)Active Secret clearance requiredCompany OverviewOM Group Inc. supports federal agencies in their Digital Transformation efforts.
