[Remote] Data Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bonterra is focused on increasing the giving rate as a percentage of GDP and supports a unique network of over 20,000 customers. The Data Engineer will design and implement data engineering technologies, collaborate with data scientists, and assist with data modeling within the data warehouse environment.ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement ETL processes in a cloud environmentDesign and implement monitoring solutions for ETL processesDocument datasets for data warehouse consumersServe as a technical resource for consumers of the data warehouse, in particular the Data Science Team and other internal business unitsSkills5+ years of experience building ETL processes4+ years of experience with one or more cloud-hosted databases (Snowflake, Synapse Analytics, Redshift or similar)Strong understanding of ETL principles and practicesExcellent SQL and Python skillsExperience with one or more IaC tools, and integrating infrastructure changes into CI/CD pipelinesActively incorporates AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) into day-to-day development workflows to improve productivity and code qualityData Modeling expertiseExemplary organization and time management skills while working both independently and within a team structureAbility to break down and translate business needs into development tasksExperience with TerraformExperience with dbt (dbt certified a plus)Familiarity with nonprofit CRM data such as donor management, fundraising, or constituent engagement datasetsExperience utilizing third-party ETL tools (FiveTran, Qlik Replicate, Airbyte)Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languagesExperience managing semi-structured dataExperience with Agile methodologies and scrum/scrumban workflowsExperience with AWS technologiesBenefitsBonusesIncentivesEquityA comprehensive benefits programCompany OverviewBonterra is a social good software company.
