[Remote] Data Engineer

In this role, you will design, build, and support data migrations, pipelines, and APIs that power web and mobile software applications.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with engineers to design and execute data migrations between systemsPerform data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliationEnsure data accuracy and completeness across environmentsBuild and maintain production data pipelines and APIsDevelop scripts and services for data movement and validationModel data and analyze source and target schemasWrite complex SQL queries and work with relational and NoSQL databasesIdentify and resolve data quality issues during migrationSupport the full lifecycle of delivery: design, development, deployment, testing, monitoring, and ongoing supportContribute to discussions around data quality, test strategy, and automationIntegrate and manage data flows across multiple systems and applicationsDesign and implement data models that reflect business logic and support application use casesDesign and execute complex data migrations between systems, ensuring data integrity and consistencySkills3+ years of experience in a Data Engineering roleAt least 5 years of experience delivering production software solutionsProficient in Python with experience shipping production pipelinesStrong hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (SQL Server and MongoDB preferred)Experience building scripts or services for data movement and validationFamiliar with Azure data tools (such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Fabric) or comparable platformsExperience using Git or other distributed version control systemsFamiliar with automated deployments and continuous delivery practicesSolid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, testing, security, and performance best practicesBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience working with transactional or financial data is a plusCompany OverviewFounded in 2005, Perform has helped hundreds of companies including McGraw Hill, Shutterfly, TJ Maxx, and AON solve complex bottlenecks in their software delivery workflow.
