[Remote] Data Engineer

They are seeking a Data Engineer to support a federal agency background investigation and personnel vetting program by designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise data solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, data services, and data integration solutions within AWS GovCloud environmentsSupport migration of legacy data into modernized platform environmentsDevelop and maintain APIs, ETL/ELT processes, and file-based integrations with internal and external government systemsPerform data modeling, database design, schema modifications, and database performance optimizationEnsure data quality, accuracy, integrity, and consistency across Personnel Vetting Management, Adjudication, and Appeals datasetsInvestigate and resolve data quality issues, coordinate remediation efforts with data providers, and implement preventative data quality controlsSupport data governance activities, data requests, reporting requirements, and audit readiness effortsDevelop automated data validation, monitoring, and reconciliation processesSupport database replication, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and continuity of operations activitiesCollaborate with software engineers, cloud architects, DevSecOps engineers, product owners, and security teams within a SAFe Agile environmentSupport CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure software delivery practicesCreate and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, architecture artifacts, and database design documentationSupport compliance with RMF, Zero Trust, NIST, DoD IL5, and cybersecurity requirementsSkills5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Database Engineer, Data Integration Engineer, or related roleBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related fieldExperience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale relational databasesStrong SQL development and database optimization experienceExperience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native data architecturesExperience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and API integrationsExperience with data governance, data quality, and master data management conceptsExperience supporting Agile and DevSecOps environmentsStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExperience supporting federal government programs (DoD, Intelligence Community, DHS, or similar)Experience with AWS GovCloud and IL5 environmentsExperience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or cloud-native database servicesExperience with Python, Java, or other modern programming languagesExperience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar toolsKnowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust, and cybersecurity compliance requirementsFamiliarity with personnel security, adjudication, continuous vetting, or trusted workforce programsAny of the following certifications: AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Security+ or equivalent DoD 8140/8570 certification, or Certified Scrum Practitioner or SAFe certificationBenefitsComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans (Healthcare benefits are 100% employer-paid for employees only)Life InsurancePaid Time Off (Flexible/Combined PTO, Bereavement Leave, 11 Company Paid Holidays)401K Retirement Plan with employer matchProfessional Development Training ReimbursementCompany OverviewInnovating the Public Sector with Cutting-Edge Technologies At VivSoft, we tackle complex public sector challenges with innovative solutions.
