[Remote] Data Annotation Analyst (contract)

The Data Annotation Analyst will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of medical claims data, ensuring compliance with internal protocols and regulatory standards while collaborating closely with the Engineering team.ResponsibilitiesAccurately input and update patient billing information, including personal details, treatment codes, insurance information, and billing amounts into the company's data systemsEfficiently and accurately shepard data through various internal pipelines and applicationsReview and verify data for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirementsWork closely with the data entry specialist team to resolve discrepancies and ensure that billing records are accurate and completeMaintain confidentiality and security of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA and other relevant regulationsCollaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to gather required information and clarify billing details as necessaryPerform regular audits of billing records to identify and correct errorsAssist in the development and implementation of data management procedures to improve data quality and efficiencyGenerate reports and provide data-related support to other departments as neededSkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredProven experience as a data entry specialist, preferably in the healthcare sector dealing with medical billing or health information managementProficient in data entry with a keen eye for detail and accuracyStrong computer skillsExcellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with colleaguesCommitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient informationAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Finance, or related field preferredFamiliarity with medical terminology, billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, etc.), and healthcare billing procedures and formats (UB-04, CMS1500, etc.) preferredProficiency in MS Office and experience with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software preferredCompany OverviewAlaffia Health is a healthtech company that uses machine learning to identify and eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse in healthcare claims.
