Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our Operations Research and Analytics (OR&AA) team at American Airlines. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and improvement through data-driven insights and analysis. This is a remote opportunity based in Colorado, offering a competitive salary of $35/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities and frame analytics problems
Acquire, manipulate, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from various sources
Build and validate statistical and machine learning models using predictive analytics and AI techniques
Design, develop, and deploy AI models within a ML Operations framework
Requirements:
Master's/PhD degree or Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline
Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, Java)
Practical experience with data extraction, cleaning, and analysis
In-depth knowledge of statistical and machine learning procedures
Experience with SQL and data visualization
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, recommender systems, and experimentation (e.g., A/B testing)
Knowledge of the airline industry
Experience working in a consulting role
Skills:
Proven ability for logical analysis, problem identification, and problem-solving
Ability to view data from different perspectives and utilize feature engineering techniques
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage a diverse team or work with a range of stakeholders
