[Remote] Data Analyst

As a Data Analyst focused on Veeva Compass Solutions Consulting and Product Expert teams, you will own analyses that demonstrate the quality, coverage and strengths of our data network, as well as conduct data investigations prompted by in-bound customer inquiries.ResponsibilitiesResearch customer’s therapeutic area to understand diagnosis/treatment patterns, population characteristics, and market dynamicsBuild therapeutic area market definitions to represent populations of interest for analysisPerform data querying, cleansing, analysis, and QC to support customer requestsManage projects and analyses to ensure timely deliverables that meet client needs and address key business questionsDerive insights from prescription and medical claims data to demonstrate the value and unique dimensions of our data networkUnderstand data in the context of customer use cases, identify data gaps and develop recommendations as to how data may be used/interpretedBuild overall expertise on the data in Veeva Compass, contributing to the development of normative databases, documentation and standardized reporting to support customersConduct exploratory analytics to understand data anomalies and elevate meaningful observations to Product for further analysisCollaborate closely with a cross-functional team of Data Scientists, Product Managers and Developers to ensure high quality data delivery to our customersGather report requirements from customers and present results of analyses performed to customersLead and contribute to internal analytics initiatives supporting pre-sales and post-salesDevelop dashboards leveraging Compass data to support common requested data views and use casesSkills4+ years experience working with prescription and medical claims data (e.g. IQVIA, SHA, Komodo), including knowledge of industry standard billing codes such as ICD, CPT/HCPCS, NDC, etcExpert in SQLUnderstand how relational databases work, and experience designing transformations, mappings and working with reference tablesExperience investigating data issues and working with a cross-functional team for problem resolutionExcellent critical thinking, communication, and presentation skillsProficiency in PythonTherapeutic area knowledgeExperience with projected data products, including IQVIA Xponent or Source PrescriberExperience working with lab and genomics dataExperience with ETL processes and toolsExperience working with a product and/or agile teamsProficient with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Sigma, etcProficient in MS Office and/or Google Apps (Powerpoint/Slides, Excel/Sheets, etc.)BenefitsMedical, dental, vision, and basic life insuranceFlexible PTO and company paid holidaysRetirement programs1% charitable giving programCompany OverviewVeeva delivers the industry cloud for life sciences with software, AI, data, and business consulting.
