The primary function of this position is to answer incoming calls from Providers, Members and Health Plans, assisting with a wide range of topics from benefit information to problem resolution.ResponsibilitiesReceives and responds to incoming telephone callsAnswer incoming calls/chats and outgoing calls in a professional, accurate, timely and courteous mannerCommunicates professionally at all timesAscertain the nature of the call and record information in the ASH proprietary systemsLook up caller information using proprietary ASH systems and provide information to the callerForward logs requiring further research to the appropriate departmentUtilize appropriate resources, including those online; to provide timely responsesManage time to ensure calls are answered within required timeframes and appropriate follow up is done in a timely mannerMeet or exceed minimum key job accountabilities established for the Customer Service Representative positionMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following all legal and compliance requirementsComplete all ASH and CSS trainings timelyAttends weekly staff and other meetings to discuss issues and foster teamwork among department personnelResponds to requests for internal and external customers and/or clients, as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsSkillsHigh School Diploma or GED certificate required1 year experience performing customer service duties; inbound call center experience preferredBasic computer skillsStrong verbal communication skillsAbility to utilize and maneuver in multiple systems during a single interactionDemonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationshipsAbility to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations of both internal and external customersExcellent listening and interpersonal communication skills to identify critical core competencies based on success factors and organizational environmentAbility to effectively organize, prioritize, multi-task and manage timeDemonstrated accuracy and productivity in a changing environment with constant interruptionsDemonstrated ability to analyze information, problems, issues, situations, and procedures to develop effective solutionsAbility to exercise strict confidentiality in all mattersAbility to see, speak, and hear other personnel and/or objectsAbility to communicate both in verbal and written formAbility to travel within and around the facility or Work from Home (WFH) environmentCapable of using a telephone, computer keyboard, and mouseAbility to lift up to 10 lbsInbound call center experience preferredBenefitsRemote Worker Guidelines: This position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment.This WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network.The internet connection must have a consistent 50 down/10 up Mbps minimum internet speed. 100 down/20 up is recommended to support higher quality video meetings.Company OverviewAmerican Specialty Health Incorporated (ASH) is one of the nation’s premier independent and privately-owned specialty health organizations offering technology-enabled services for benefits management, including clinical programs for musculoskeletal health, fitness programs, and well-being solutions for health plans, employers, associations, and others.
