[Remote] Contingent Summer Research Analyst Intern

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is focused on health research, and they are seeking a Contingent Summer Research Analyst Intern to contribute to their CKD study. The intern will work with a project team to analyze electronic health record data and assist in various analytic tasks from day one.ResponsibilitiesContribute to construction and QC of longitudinal electronic health record (EHR) analytic files using structured dataConduct descriptive analyses of patient demographics, lab values, medication use, and clinical characteristicsSummarize data availability, follow-up patterns, and measurement frequency across CKD subgroupsSupport feasibility assessments by generating counts, proportions, and distributional summariesProduce clean, well-documented analytic code and contribute to draft tables and figuresParticipate in biweekly internal team meetings and client meetings, and contribute to written deliverablesSkillsCurrently enrolled in a graduate program (MPH, MS, PhD, or equivalent) in biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, health informatics, or a related fieldProficiency in Python, R, or SAS for data manipulation and descriptive analysisComfort working with big data – large, messy, real-world datasetsStrong attention to detail and ability to write clean, reproducible, well-commented codeAbility to work independently with remote supervisionComfort using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot)Familiarity with EHR data or claims-based dataExperience with longitudinal data structures (e.g., repeated lab measurements, time-to-event)Experience with version control (Git)Company OverviewArbor Research Collaborative for Health conducts studies in epidemiology and public health with the goal of improving patient outcomes.
