[Remote] Content Team Lead / Web Content Manager

Alpha Omega is seeking a Content Team Lead / Web Content Manager to support the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Web Modernization and Support contract. This role will lead day-to-day web content operations and manage a team of Content Managers to ensure content accuracy and compliance across SAMHSA web properties.ResponsibilitiesLead daily web content management activities within Drupal CMS environmentsPerform webmaster functions, including content publishing, page updates, metadata management, taxonomy alignment, and content quality reviewsCoordinate and manage enterprise content update calendars, release schedules, and publishing timelinesEnsure website content remains accurate, accessible, compliant, and aligned with agency standards and prioritiesSupport high-visibility updates, emergency communications, campaigns, and digital initiatives across SAMHSA web propertiesMonitor content workflows and ensure timely completion of customer requests and operational tasksManage and coordinate task assignments for a team of approximately five Content ManagersTrack workload, priorities, deadlines, and deliverables across multiple concurrent initiativesLead internal content team meetings, status reviews, and operational coordination sessionsProvide mentorship, quality oversight, and guidance to content staffCollaborate with developers, designers, QA testers, and program leadership to support integrated web operationsLead meetings and coordination sessions with government customers and stakeholdersServe as a primary point of contact for content operations and publishing activitiesTranslate customer requests into actionable content tasks and prioritiesProvide status updates, publishing schedules, and operational reporting to leadership and stakeholdersCoordinate cross-functional communication between content, development, UX/UI, analytics, and infrastructure teamsEnsure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards, federal web policies, and content governance processesReview content for formatting consistency, usability, readability, and adherence to agency branding standardsSupport quality assurance reviews and content validation activities prior to production deploymentAssist with development and maintenance of content governance documentation, workflows, and standard operating proceduresSkills5+ years of experience managing website content operations in Drupal or similar CMS platformsExperience serving as a webmaster or content lead for large-scale enterprise or federal websitesExperience leading teams and coordinating content publishing operations across multiple stakeholdersStrong understanding of web content governance, accessibility standards, metadata, and taxonomy managementExcellent organizational, communication, and customer engagement skillsExperience managing editorial calendars, publishing schedules, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with Agile workflows, Jira, Confluence, and collaborative digital delivery environmentsExperience supporting federal health or public-sector digital modernization programsFamiliarity with SAMHSA, HHS, or government communications environmentsKnowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements and web content best practicesExperience coordinating enterprise-level website updates, campaigns, or crisis communicationsFamiliarity with analytics-driven content optimization and user-centered content strategiesBachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, Information Management, or related field preferredBenefits15 days PTO including paid parental, military, and bereavement leaveEleven (11) paid Federal holidays, five of which are floating holidays (as designated by the company’s holiday schedule each year)Health and Dental Insurance (including 100% employer paid premiums for employee coverage under the HDHP health plan)Life Insurance, STD/LTD term disability coverage, with employer paid premiums401 (k) plan with a match that is 100% vested after you complete two years of serviceFSA/DFSA/HSA flexible benefit plansAnnual Tuition & Professional Development Reimbursement benefitCompany OverviewAlpha Omega delivers mission-focused solutions to ensure our nation’s continued global leadership.
