[Remote] Content Editor and Proofreader

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and polishing content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency while maintaining high-quality standards under tight deadlines. Responsibilities • Review and edit written content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax errors. • Ensure consistency in tone, style, and format across all content. • Verify facts, statistics, and references to maintain content credibility. • Reorganize and restructure content for readability and coherence. • Provide constructive feedback to writers to enhance overall content quality. • Ensure content aligns with brand guidelines and meets audience expectations. • Ensure all content complies with copyright and plagiarism policies. • Adhere to media law and ethical standards when editing sensitive materials. • Work closely with writers, designers, and other team members to ensure cohesive content production. • Assist in brainstorming and refining content ideas to meet strategic goals. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines. • Track edits and changes to ensure transparency and accountability. • Perform final checks on all content before publication. • Maintain records of edited content and ensure a streamlined workflow. Skills • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a content editor, proofreader, or similar role. • Proven track record of editing and proofreading across various formats (e.g., articles, reports, blogs, marketing materials). • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Must have a reliable laptop and a strong internet connection. • Ability to work remotely and maintain consistent communication with the team. • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English Language, or related field. • Proven experience in editing, preferably within a media or publishing environment. • Strong writing and editing skills with impeccable grammar and attention to detail. • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. • Excellent research and communication skills.
